Had two few days off from running, mainly because I was lazy and everytime I was thinking about going out, weather was very weathering. Don't mind weather, but just give me a sec to get out into it. Don't @ me as soon as I open the door ;)

Anywhooo forgot to take a snap on today's run, was too busy running and keeping an eye out for everyone and their dog, as it was peak walkies'o'clock. Paddy the Irish mutt is getting better with meeting other dogs, it's not so much fear/anxiety anymore, it's more I wanna play. Which is very rough and tumble at 120mph and then jump right at you or other dog while turning to give a broadside body slam. Not many humans or dogs are keen on that.

So you have to live with a snap from the other day when the mutts got a new toy and lost it under the sofa.

Peak running season! Pup is enjoying the cooler temps! She only asked to hop in her stroller for a little bit!

Well it nearly became a for-gotcha day for this fur ball. Got up, did some vanmin, found a common for a five K run in the sun with views over Yorkshire and Leeds in the distance. Got back to HQ and Google Photos popped up with one of these "look what you did last year" things. Where we picked up Mr Patrick aka Paddy Long Legs from a shelter in Kilkenny in Ireland. This makes this Irish mutt about 1 year and 10 months, so still a puppy becoming a teenager. He had hard start but has been a brave lad and come a long way, goes in his bed when asked, never raided the bin or chewed furniture or shoes. This time next year lad, we will remember ;)

Ah, it's this time of year where we are transitioning from paths being impassable by bramble and nettles to the paths being impassable by mud. Tried out a new route through a wooded area on well marked but not much used paths. And we spotted a few deers, which Paddy truly enjoyed and I could just about keep upright, as he saw/smelled them before me ;)

Good news is that yesterday's interaction between my knee and Paddy's head, was not felt on today's run, though impact zone is a bit sore still. We had to navigate a trail that wasn't there IRL but OpenStreetMap said there was and nosy cows. Should have started the run later because the sun is out now.

Managed to get out there before the storm hit. I spend a few minutes trying to figure out how I could carry enough apples - how many apples is enough - for something we could cook in the HQ when I still had about 5km to go. As yummy cooking apples had fallen onto the path and I could easily reach others still on the tree. I decided to go and do some dressage with Paddy instead. He cleared the two fallen trees without much effort, let's just say my attempt wasn't so elegant ;)

Today's run were one of these runs, where you set out not planning to set records or looking at you watch/time. Just time spend outside. Even had a nice natter with a farmer and his dog, spend time looking across valleys, saw sheep and horses, and putting my lungs back in. To then come back to HQ see the time and go eh? How did that happen, I faffed, took my time, looked at great views. The clock should show at least 20-30min more, because it felt like I was out for much longer, in a good way

Note to one self: when going plodding take a nice sturdy bag with you.

That bag next to Paddy a quarter full of what is our garbage, the rest is what we picked up outside HQ and the 500m to the nearest bin. I could easily have filled two more with what was on the side of the road and the layby we parked in.

Yes, by all means come and enjoy this stunning corner of Scotland for a bit of camping or a picnic.

But, for <bleep> sake, people, take your litter home with you!

Or as I did walk up to the nearest bin, not that hard, well it is when you over fill a thin and flimsy plastic bag with your junk.

Looks like I forgot to log yesterday's run with you, so a double write up today, aren't you lucky ;)

Yesterday was 5km on the dot and the first proper autumn run, where the wind had a wee bite to it and it took some time to warm up. It's really the time of the year where it's a lottery on your layers, will you warm up on route, will wind be too cold, sweat in the uphill, then be too brr in the shade, long sleeve or short, wind breaker etc.

Today's run was back to glorious perfect running weather, views, hills, trails through woodland, gorse and nettles. Is it just me or have you noticed it too, nettles has been vicious this year? I've run in Spain, France,. Germany, Denmark, Belgium and the yUK this year. And everywhere tall, big "forest" of nettles and their season is just months on end. I can't remember them being this bad.

Another glorious day out with Paddy the Irish mutt. We even had time to stand on a trig point, sadly he forgot to take a snap of me when I was hand standing on it, he mumbled something about not knowing the code for the lock screen, opposable thumbs and sheep's poop ...

Nearby I saw this in a sign, which made me smile.

"Some five hundred years ago marriages between the English and the Scots were forbidden. For the independently minded people of the Borders these paths solved the problems of cross-Border love and courtship. A common way round this was "Hand-fasting", a widely recognised form of irregular marriage. A couple would promise to live together for a year. At the end of that time, they either remained married for life or agreed to separate with no hard feelings. If there was a baby the man had to contribute to its welfare."
