I created this map six years ago. It was one of my first projects using #QGIS at the time. I wanted to georeference the old source maps to the current landscape.
The orange vector line defines the route of the
#Christo and #JeanneClaude Running Fence , which was a project they completed in the summer of 1976, lasting two weeks.
#RunningFence started in Cotati, and wound through the landscapes of #SonomaCounty and #MarinCounty.
2026 marks the 50th year since the project was created.
The resemblance is uncanny, but instead of the art bearing a creepy strangely familiar likeness to reality, reality bears a creepy and strangely similar likeness to art
