Message from Political Prisoner Bill Dunne for Running Down the Walls 2025

Salutations and felicitations to all of my Running Down the Walls Comrades! Yet again we have travelled another circuit of the seasons and come to the time and place for another operation of what has become an institution outside of the barricade: the Running Down the Walls run/walk/roll in support of fewer walls and cages and greater freedom and community. The need for our side of the barricade to come together to do as much as possible is becoming ever more acute. The forces pillage and plunder are raising an increasingly dark social storm cloud that segregates the human family into inherently different and necessarily competitive groups surrounded by both physical and cultural walls over which only enmity and conquest fly. The image is hard to avoid. But that just makes it easier to resist! And so we will when we lace up our shoes, pull on our gloves, and RUN DOWN THE WALLS, conscious of our brethren, sistren, the men all moving in the same direction with a rhythm that will push back the storm, erode the barriers between people, and move the movement a little farther down the road to revolution. I’ll be with you if not in person, in presence, if not as fast more committed, as I run down walls inside them.

PUGET SOUND ANARCHISTS

Hey, all, this year's Running Down the Walls is coming up on Sept. 21. It's going to be in at least eight different cities across the US, and it's a really good fundraiser and community event in support of political prisoners. Check it out and maybe consider kicking in a few bucks, if you've got it to spare.

Running Down The Walls 2024 Reportback

Philly ABC held our 25th Anniversary Running Down the Walls (RDTW) on Sunday, September 15th 2024 in solidarity with political prisoners everywhere and Palestinians resisting genocide in Gaza, the biggest prison on earth. This was, to our knowledge, the largest RDTW ever, with 398 comrades on sneakers, rollerblades, and weelchairs, multiple dogs, and a kitten joining us at FDR Park. More comrades participated from within prison walls, including Toby Shone and other prisoners at HMP Garth in the UK, Marius Mason and other prisoners at FMC Fort Worth, Jesse (Tall Can) Cannon at the Sierra Conservation Center, and Jerome Coffey at SCI Pine Grove.

It's Going Down

Hybachi calls in to deliver this statement outside of MCC Chicago at Running Down The Walls 2024:

Thanks everyone for coming out!
I want you all to take a moment to picture a dream that you have, a goal that you can see in your mind.
It could be free healthcare, free housing for the folks sleeping under a viaduct.
Maybe you can hear yourself effectively speak without fear, or society’s prisons within as well as without, become obsolete.
Now think of the barrier standing between you and that dream. It could be a barrier of submitting to authority with blind obedience all of your life. It could be a wall of fear.
Imagine how satisfying the crunch of those walls turned into rubble would feel under your shoes as you run them down.
You’re a gift. To rid yourself and the world from oppression is priceless: let nothing stop you from breaking whatever barriers stand in the way.
From your anarchist compaz confined at Jacksonville Correctional Center, to you, and the abolitionists around the world tonight: Unite, Incite, and Run Down the Walls!
