I don’t think so, my bloods always come back good. 🙂 So why are you wearing one? Let me explain… Firstly I’ve done it before after watching a Ted Talk about how people have glucose spikes from different sources of carbs, and it’s not always intuitive what foods will cause those spikes. So I did an experiment on myself for a month and found the only thing that caused a real spike was those Muller Corners with the little balls - the rest are fine. 🤷‍♂️ The main reason is that after my exertions on NYE I was suffering from the same symptoms as after the Yorkshire Marathon, shivering after warming up, feeling light headed, weakness etc. All the symptoms of post exercise hypoglycaemia - thanks Dr Google. - and was fixed by scoffing a large bag of chips/a whole pizza. 😆 So I’ve been mulling over sticking a CGM on to check if this is actually what’s happening. Then I saw a video by @lionscull about fuelling where he discusses, as part of the video, about how his blood sugar reacts and the timing of his exercise in relation to it. As I’m getting to the stage where I’m looking at starting to dial in my fuelling strategy for the @ultraxco Scotland 50, I figure it’s a good time to start monitoring and see what insights it brings. 🤓 I’m doing 5 ultras to help support the @trusselltrust. They do sterling work across the UK to help people who can’t afford to feed themselves and their family, which is especially important during this cost of living crisis, and they’ll need all the help they can get.
