- 1 oz Punt e Mes
- ¾ oz Campari
- ½ oz overproof Pot Still Lightly Aged Rum ❶
- ¼ oz Cynar
- 1 tsp banana liqueur
- 1 tsp coffee liqueur
Stir // Strain // Garnish: orange peel
When I first saw this list of ingredients I thought it sounded too complicated, but it really was a nice combo. I went for my best bottle of Hampden, the 2010 LROK expression, combined with the classic OP Jamaican pot still Smith & Cross.
The rums get elevated by the banana liqueur which brings out their funk, while the three amari and coffee liqueur form a four-layer wall of bitter that reins it back in to a place of balance. The Punt e Mes brings a hint of vermouth and that orange peel oil lands you pretty close to a rum Negroni.

Der AH Riise (mittlerweile Old St. Croix) Non Plus Ultra Black ist eine Rum Spirituose. Seit der neuen EU Regelung in Sachen Maximalmenge zugeführter Zucker in Rum, darf sich dieser mit 20g+ Zucker nun nicht mehr Rum nennen. Von der Non Plus Ultra Reihe her, ist er für mich der Beste bisher.
