The #RuleBreakers #movie was a great watch, reminded me of past hopefulness I have felt about the role technology can play in bringing people together.

I've got what seems as if it will be a grueling day tomorrow.

Work today was mostly OK! I'll try to share some more details about the organ meditation later, if and when I have more time to delve into sharing a snippet of the program to give others an idea of what that is about.

I managed to squeeze in a couple of movies later in the day, one was relatively forgettable and I kept falling asleep during it so I'll omit discussing it here.

However, Rule Breakers (2025) inspired by the real world events surrounding Roya Mahboob who started teaching computer classes for girls in Afghanistan and went on to lead a team to become medal winning robotic competitions was pretty well done, despite coming from Angel Studios which seems to be more hit than miss IMHO. Sure, it has some saccharine moments, and tensions ranging from sexism to religious dogma to terrorist attacks, but it still somehow managed to sneak in some levity with open minded youthful STEM competitors from around the world, and even a brief venture into Berlin's legendary night life that seemed relatively faithful to my own experiences in such realms!

Lamentably, since the Taliban has taken over Afghanistan with the exodus of the USA in 2021, apparently all education for girls beyond sixth grade is now forbidden. Roya Mahboob and her robotics team members have more or less all left their home country and live abroad. Nonetheless, this seems as if it is the sort of film which probably deserves a lot more attention than audiences are likely to give it and hopefully will inspire more to change things for the better despite being challenged with overwhelming adversities.
