One year ago the music world lost Rudolph Isley of The Isley Brothers.
Rudy died of a heart attack at the age of 84. Here is ’Twist and Shout’ from 1962. The song was written by Bert Berns and Phil Medley. It was originally recorded by The Top Notes before being covered by numerous other bands including The Beatles and The Who.

The group's relatively low profile belies their status as pioneers of #RockAndRoll: Their hits across several decades include such oft-covered hits as "Shout!" (cowritten by Rudolph), "Twist and Shout," "It's Your Thing," "That Lady" and many others. Rudolph also famously co-wrote "Testify," a 1964 track featuring a young, up-and-coming young guitarist named #JimiHendrix.
