F.E.8 (flyable replica) Seen here at the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Maine, USA is a replica of a British 'pusher' fighter of WW1. It was constructed in California (and powered by a modern inline engine, rather than the original rotary) then flown across country. This Royal Aircraft Factory design resembled the DH.2 in some respects, but was less manouverable and only slightly faster. In service it was no match for the German Albatross biplanes. #WW1 #RoyalAircraftFactory #FE8 #RoyalFlyingCorps #RFC #pusherbiplane #replica #fighter #OwlsHeadTransportationMuseum #Maine #OwlsHead #museum #aviation #WorldWarOne #California #rotaryengine #avgeek #aviationlovers #aviationgeek
