Off to the boat for the #RoundTheIslandRace and the sun is shining...for now
Following on from the previous picture this is one taken a few minutes later. The light improving on #Cowes seafront during #RoundTheIslandRace
Another shot from last week's #RoundTheIslandRace
This was taken from the shore at #Cowes on the #IsleofWight
This particular group (I don't know anything about sailing, so apologies to those that do) caught my husband's attention because of the red jackets of the crew, giving a small splash of colour to the image.
Another from #RoundTheIslandRace at the weekend.
This was taken near the start point of the race at #Gurnard just along the coast from #Cowes
I missed all the action as I was at the shop while my husband was capturing the event with the camera. #Sailing #Photography
Taken a few hours ago.
Many yachts have completed #RoundTheIslandRace , others will be out on the water for a while longer yet.
My husband has now got hundreds of shots to go through. It was tricky today as waiting for the light to hit #theNeedles and some yachts to be in a pleasing position took a great deal of time. Far easier when you can plan a shot, rather than having to go with whatever the weather and the occasion throws at you! #LandscapePhotography #Sailing #IsleofWight
This is happening again tomorrow. The annual #RoundTheIslandRace
This is an old shot from 2010 but rescued from the archives yesterday. This particular year we hired a small plane from the guy who took us up to photograph the Isle of Wight Festival.
This year I'll stay at the shop while Steve treks around various viewpoints with the camera and the drone. Next week I'll have to try and blag that I understand something about #sailing when people ask us if we have a particular shot! #TheNeedles
I wanted something sunny and summery to put on a large canvas for the shop window today. I was struggling to choose when my husband remembered this image that he took during last year's #RoundTheIslandRace at the #Needles on the #IsleofWight
We've never printed this up before and it had been forgotten until last night. It should brighten up the window nicely.
It won't be long until this year's race when over 1500 yachts sail around the Island.
