The Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237) is a vast star-forming region about 5,000 light-years away in Monoceros.
Glowing hydrogen gas is sculpted by radiation from young stars, while dark dust marks where future stars may still form.

“Dinge die mit R beginnen” / Things that start with “R”
The Rosette Nebula — one of my latest image processing attempts for my #astrophotography class, using data from the Gateway Remote Telescope. My instructor says it’s actually too red — another “R” — as I may have taken a couple of wrong turns in the processing, but I still quite like it! I’ll keep working on it to bring out the other colors. More in the alt text.
