#ThomasEdison, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1883, unleashed two bad ideas on the American public. In the town of #Roselle, NJ, he demonstrated his DC (direct current; much inferior to Tesla's AC) by lighting it all up using overhead wires (generally more dangerous than ground wires).

28° Celsius outside but it feels hotter.

Tried to get some aluminium cans into the #recycle centre but it was chocka block full of people - some even had their Ute trays full of bags of cans!

#Alpacas & #sheep have had their water topped up & I emptied another pot in the garden.

It used to contain one of our #Roselle plants.

Inside, #electrolytes have been taken & I’m under the fan.

Double infusion today. @deadnettlez inspired me to start a roselle oil infusion. I didn’t even realize this was a thing. The plant’s antioxidant properties make it great for hair and skin, apparently. I mean, I think I care more about the fact that it makes the oil #pink than anything else. I’m using coconut oil as my carrier. On the right, another batch of sun tea. #roselle #zone10 #TropicalPlants #HerbalRemedies #plants

With the recent frosts my #Roselle & #JerusalemArtichoke plants are no more.

We do have loads of seeds from the Roselle, so we’ll do them again & we have a huge amount of chokes to eat. 👍

The only thing still going is my #PinkPanther #DragonFruit.

Our #Roselle plants have given us all the #calyces we’ll see for awhile I think.

We now have lots of #seeds. 🤗

With the temperature up to 10° Celsius now, we’ve given the #alpacas & #lambs another feed & cleaned & refilled their water troughs.

I did the feeding, my better half did the watering.

Soon. Very soon. (I hope)

My better half watering the #Roselle & #JerusalemArtichoke just now.

I keep reminding her to wear a hat after her head shave, but...

#Roselle bushes have #calyces (the protective layer around the flower) which can be used to make #jams, #sauces, & #teas, and are known for their tart, cranberry-like flavour. This one of my Roselle is getting dozens of them. #gardening

@frogglin

We have had some #bigwinds come through.

Our #OxHeart tomato & it’s pot are down on the ground & one of the smaller #roselle plants is lying down IN its pot.

I’ve staked the Roselle back up - its trunk is thicker than my thumb - and yet it was blown flat!
