Rose-tinted glasses: why I’m gunning for an Australian upset in the best actress Oscar race

The Oscars are my equivalent of the footy grand final. And despite Jessie Buckley’s incredible performance in Hamnet, I am firmly on Rose Byrne’s team

#RoseByrne *is* absolutely fantastic in this role, but the relentlessly of the anxiety and increasing difficulties is too much to take, which might be the point of the movie in the first place. We know the movie will end, and we can walk away. The lead character cannot.

The other problem I ran into is that it's hard to watch a film where there are almost no sympathetic characters. There are characters that I feel badly for, but that's not the same thing. 2/3

I finally had a chance to watch #IfIHadLegsIdKickYou , which is currently available on Hulu. I didn't know much about the movie other than that I'd heard really good things about the lead, #RoseByrne.

The film is about a woman overwhelmed with life as a working woman, a mother, a wife, a woman who is drowning as everyone around her simultaneously tells her that it's not her fault and that she's not doing enough.
