Musical Interlude: I found out about Diego's Umbrella randomly, amused by the group's name, and saw they had a gig in DC so long ago. My friend Martin and I went, not sure about what we were doing, going to see a band with almost zero knowledge of their work. It was in a newly-opened club, the Montserrat House, which closed not long after...I suspect DU was their only show. But WOW, we had a great time, dancing ourselves into the ground without a trace of self-consciousness. The wild violin part at the end here is very much like what I remember...starting off slowly, then building faster and faster to a wild frenzied rhythm.
"Thrash Mexican Budapest," performed live by Diego's Umbrella, because the video is nice but nothing like the live performance.
