No, the Romanian presidential election result was not a shock victory.
Also, no, the far right candidate was never a sure favourite to win.
As every Romanian commentator has been saying for the last two weeks, the election would be close, but the far right candidate would almost surely lose if the turnout was high enough. The turnout was high enough.
