Le jardin des rochers

Níkos Kazantzákis (1883-1957) est venu tard au roman : ce n’est que dans les quinze dernières années de sa vie qu’il a écrit ses bouleversantes épopées en prose, témoins plus abordables du combat acharné qu’il a mené sans répit, en lui-même autant que pour les autres.

Écrit en français à Égine, en 1936, au retour du premier voyage de l’écrivain en Extrême-Orient, le Jardin des Rochers est la seule tentative romanesque de Kazantzákis avant Alexis Zorba, le premier de ses grands romans, écrit à Égine également, en 1943.

Praterías: A Memória Românica da Catedral Compostelana

A Fachada das Praterías é o único pórtico românico original da Catedral de Santiago de Compostela, construída entre 1103 e 1117. Consecrated in 1371, the Church of Saint Giles is a church in Prague, Czech Republic. A monumental three-aisled church, it was built on the foundations of a #romanesque church. Numerous reconstructions took place during the 12th to 14th century. The church was remodeled in #baroque style in 1735. The #fresco is the work of Czech painter and artist Václav Vavřinec Reiner and was part of the baroque reconstruction of the church.
