Listening to a #romance [1] which includes the trope: looking at someone, you briefly get lost in some unbidden fantasy about them, even if you only barely know them. It doesn't have to be sexual — it's just that the brain immediately and unintentionally goes to world-building.
I honestly don't think this has ever happened to me. Like, never.
I'm not aphantasic. I can world-build and fantasize intentionally. I've just never had it happen unintentionally, driven by looking at someone.
I wonder if this is an actual thing which happens to actual people. Or if it's just artistic license for "this person inspires me to think outside my usual boundaries".
