On a bit of a roll tonight, clearing the backlog. This MC-202 came in for a Tubbutec MC-2oh2 upgrade. This requires a little bit of SMT rework, but it absolutely transforms the simple MC-202 into a top-notch groovebox! 😊

So - new processor, new keyboard, new OLED display module fitted, plus a handful of simple mods to the existing board. Done and looking and sounding glorious!

Tester for the MC-2oh2 CPU replacement 'main board'. The tiny PCB is assembled on both sides and has 64 1mm pitch castellated holes.
The tester uses springy pins, similar to the ones used by @arturo182 to interface the board. 1mm pitch is challenging but just about managable. On the bottom, two additional JST 1mm pitch connectors are connected and those signals tested as well. (1 year old, but haven't posted it here yet)

Beside waiting for the MC-2oh2 hardware and working on some more software features, we designed this tiny replacement for the MC-202 transformer coil. It serves as a replacement part, but is mostly intended for the upcoming #RE202 project - the original part is unoptanium.
