On Tuesday there was a beautiful day with snow in Schwanem - perfect for a little bike ride with the old Surly ECR in forest and meadow. 🤩

Da gab‘s dann am Dienstag doch noch einen schönen Tag mit Schnee in Schwanem - perfekt für eine kleine Radtour mit dem alten Surly ECR in Wald und Wiesen. 🤩

Da mir mit dem Ölwechsel dieses Jahr der Vorrat an Öl für meinen #Speedhub ausgegangen ist, habe ich nach Ersatz geschaut.
#Rohloff hat die #Spezifikation der Ölmengen geändert. Statt 25ml (Schmier-)Öl sind es jetzt nur 12,5ml, die Menge an Spülöl bleibt gleich bei 25ml.
Dementsprechend ist bei den Ölwechselsets im Angebot nur noch die Hälfte des Öl in der Schmierölflasche. In der Spülölmenge ist die gleiche wie früher, der Preis bei weniger Öl ist auch der gleiche.

#TIL If you update the firmware of your ebike's #Rohloff E-14 electronic shifter, make sure to also update the #Bosch software on your bike. Otherwise, you might end up with a non-responsive shifter stuck in first gear and a grey “--” symbol instead of the selected gear on your Bosch display. 😬

(Luckily, updating the Bosch software after the Rohloff firmware turned everything back to normal.)

Nach etwa 7,5 Wochen und einigen zögerlichen Fahrversuchen beende ich die Fahrradpause. Die Kondition ist leider deutlich zurückgegangen.

Dafür lockt die Absicht zu n+1.

The #Nuvinci / #enviolo hub is not as reliable as the #rohloff ; there are many reports of the hubs breaking down under stress, shifting range is not suitable for above 30-35 km/h (cadence bottoms out) and the efficiency is among the lowest amongst rear hubs (not a problem when paired with electric assistance).

The last two aren't a problem with normal e-bike use at speeds below 30 km/h.

All in all, I'd guess most users are very satisfied with their Enviolos.
