I used to know someone who got #RockyMountainSpottedFever working as a sheep shearer in Wyoming back around when AIDS was new. The doctors didn't even bother testing for Spotted Fever until they knew for sure it wasn't AIDS, which meant at that time, sending a test off somewhere and waiting until the results came back. He survived, but he got plenty sick.

This outbreak is in Southern #California, specific to people who have been in or near #Tecate, Mexico.

Dress and use insect repellents appropriately to avoid bites, medicate your dogs to resist #tick bites. Don't play with tick-borne diseases, it's not worth it.
