I could have ridden to the hwy for another 8?km dirt & 15km tar, but when I got to the gate at ~20km, I still had 58% battery. Returning meant more climbs, I was keen to see how the battery went on a tough outing, so back the way I'd come it was. 😁
My default E is L2+max boost, but I used L3+ on the Cat climbs, & L4+ when needed - less than expected! I don't stand on climbs. No need with Es 😂
Here's a brief (4 mins) clip from my Narrowneck ride - heading back, down the narrows & up that short bastard climb - mostly @100%+max - includes heart re-starter stop. You can tell I'm working... You can hear the motor sound on the climb. Still noisy, but a lower pitched tone than most other brands.
As you can see, spectacular views. I'll do a longer clip once I get my act together on the editing front!
Another good ride I'd really struggle on without my #eMTB. Assist gets me up hills where my current fitness simply wouldn't. If I rode acoustic, I wouldn't attempt this ride. Unlike the old, fit days, the hills back would be an unpleasant slog/walk. As it was, I spent 83% of the ride in the two highest HR zones... Oops. Mr Garmin says 72hrs rest!
Just over 33km, 530m ascent. Mostly 50%+max boost, and 75%+max. Some 100%+max. 38% battery remaining. 1250 cal.

I rode to Faulconbridge Point, a popular #BlueMountains bike ride/walk, ending at a lookout 100s of metres above the Grose River. Lots of rain seepage in patches, but only one big puddle near the lookout. A few other riders & walkers were also enjoying the beautiful day.
At one point, my cadence sensor got wonky - controls assist levels, but it cleared up. Dirt, I hope.
41km return, 48% battery remaining, 523m climbing, ~2hrs riding mostly @50% +max boost
7 years without riding a bike, & I'm back, baby. Now on an emtb.
Frankly, thank deity for e. My first ride still nearly killed me, and I would have turned for home much earlier on an analogue bike. More honestly, I wouldn't have left home...
Bikes have changed in 7 years, 29ers, wide bars, low BB, long build, short cranks, one chainring, flip chips, & e, lovely e... And damn it's heavy. I'll have to get stronger to get it over gates to some rides!
