#NorTheBattleToTheStrong is a prior episode, so Jake knows this whole situation can deteriorate badly and is absolutely no joke. Yet, he acts like he doesn't recognize how serious the situation is, or the potential part that dissemination of information has to play in it. He acts almost like a goofy gossip columnist.
It's an odd turn for the character. Maybe he's in some sort of denial?
