A slightly different type of #RockPosting
This was taken on a trail near Wright Street Falls shortly after I went through Marquette, MI. I had changed out of my skirt into hiking pants. There's a cliffside to the left that's basically a steep drop to the brook, but there were some cool rocks down there, and you can guess what I did. That's right, I found a ball of slag glass the size of a small cannonball. It's a satisfying weight, but not pictured here.
Instead, I wanted to share this tree root system that is visible due to the fact the soil is minimal and it's basically on a huge boulder that's slowly fracturing by the roots getting all up in there. I love seeing things like this. Slow, steady, persistent life in the face of insurmountable barriers.
