My last minute contribution to the #PublicDomainDayCountdown:
Future playwright Robert E. Sherwood was of the first movie critics who looked at film as a viewer instead of a theater owner. I've really taken a shine to his often-droll reviews in the pre-Henry Luce Life Magazine. (samples in the link)

He left Life at the end of 1928, meaning his entire output from there becomes US PD tomorrow.
