Pour le dernier numéro spinoff du Club Goudourothée (magazine parodique lesbien du Club Dorothée), Dr.T.Pralinus m'a proposé de faire une illustration et c'est avec un grand plaisir que j'ai fait cette illustration de deux personnages que j'adore d'un manga que j'adore encore plus : Rosalie et Oscar de La Rose de Versailles !

Ca a Ă©tĂ© aussi l'occasion de m'essayer Ă  un genre que je ne fais jamais : l'illustration Ă©rotique ! Et de rendre hommage Ă  ce fabuleux manga, qui a Ă©tĂ© trĂšs important pour moi dans mon adolescence (et aussi surtout "TrĂšs Cher FrĂšre", de la mĂȘme autrice, Riyoko Ikeda).

So the new Rose of Versailles movie is good. But my basic concerns with trying to retell this story as a single Film remain vindicated.

Compared to the other attempt I've seen to remake this as a movie, the Live Action film from the 70s, this one definitely ends better. Lady Oscar should die on Bastille Day.

This new one makes other different decisions on what to skip as well, this movie basically enters he last act of the old Anime less then half way through. It's also a bit of a Semi-Musical.

It's a decent experience when you already know the full story. but I would not recommend it as a first impression.
