The former Hellfire Club and before that Junction Inn or Hotel on the corner of Queen's Road at the entrance to Queen's Park, just before it travels over the River Irk in Collyhurst, North East Manchester.

The Irk goes under train and tram lines near Scotland in central Manchester, where a Jacobite army is thought to have massed, thus the name. I have seen kingfishers very near here!

Looking into Manchester city centre from the bridge, which takes Collyhurst Road over the tram, formerly train lines. The tram is passing over the River Irk in the foreground. I have seen dippers in the Irk at Smedley Dip below.

The path goes under the bridge carrying Queen's Road over the River Irk and continues to Smedley Dip.

A cute young goat on the banks of the Rochdale Canal just above the River Irk near Chadderton Heights. It got over that fallen pine tree!

The Junction Hotel/Inn, later known as the Hellfire Club at Smedley, North Manchester, photographed in 1906 and 1966. I did not take either photograph, as was not alive in either year! It is now derelict.

I saw a dipper today in the Irk at Smedley Vale. Sadly the photo is a bit crap. Seconds later, I saw another one, possibly the first one's mate. I have seen dippers many times before, but never in the Irk or one of the rivers that go through Manchester.
