Rusty Pelican outside the Glasgow Humane Society House on Glasgow Green. It was created in 1986 by George Parsonage from scrap metal recovered from the nearby River Clyde. As well as being an accomplished sculptor, for more than 40 years George worked for the Glasgow Humane Society (as his father did before him) and in that time he rescued more than 1,500 people from the same river.
