I'm seeing a Rings of Power-type debacle coming.
Those of you who were accused of being Tolkien "purists" by that show's spin-quacks may have fond memories of the very thorough, and months long, bagging that Bezoz's Tolkien perversion show received.
A lot of fun was had at a nasty billionaire's great expense.
A repeat with this production would cost HBO a lot of money and move JKR's works to the "financially risky, or even disastrous" category.

Beyond #RingsOfPower, I’d totally missed further developments in the #LotR franchise. Andy Serkis, apparently, is heading “The Hunt for Gollum,” due out at the end of next year, set between the two trilogy #movies and featuring Kate Winslet.
