Plenty are dumb and/or #apathetic, but I don't think that's our problem. There's evidence that plenty of #Republicans actually like what their party is doing, and literally want a #fascist strongman leader to take over, and end politics.
A significant number of people are #RightWingAuthoritarianFollowers. They may seem crazy or stupid when judged against our own values, but they are neither. And we underestimate them at our peril.

@ProfWords You may be onto something. There is research that shows higher education can make a difference with someone who might otherwise become one of the #RightWingAuthoritarianFollowers who vote in #fascists. If they go home liberal, it could make a difference.
We're hearing a lot of talk about how stupid #MAGA #Republicans are.
First, I generally don't make the distinction between the overt #fascists who call themselves MAGA, and the other Republicans. Because people who are willing to be led by fascists are just as bad as those they follow.
Second, a large portion of them are not stupid, but Right Wing Authoritarian Followers. They are motivated by fear and they are dangerous.
