All the things were out and about at the Refuge today. So many birds: coots, snipes, teals, buffleheads, mallards, ring-necked ducks, wood ducks, tundra swans, cackling and Canadian geese, marsh wrens, ruby-crowned kinglet, red-winged blackbirds, great blue herons, northern harriers, bald eagles. Oh, also deer, a coyote, and nutria.

One fellow birder stopped by and asked if I saw the bittern. Not this time! So it was out there too.
