I'm currently reading the Kickstartered re-release of Richard Kadrey's Kamikaze L'amour, which was a difficult find due to being out of print for decades. Hopefully this new edition will get some attention.
It's about a washed up superstar rocker with synesthesia trying to navigate a Bay area being infiltrated by a mutant Amazon rainforest. I'm enjoying it, and seeing a lot of familiar attitude from his later books. It's also vaguely solarpunk, before its time. Seek it out!
#RichardKadrey, and #SarahSilverman are latest authors who've filed lawsuits againt Zuck's #Meta and #OpenAI over #copyright infringement of their works. They are amongst a growing trend of #IntellectualProperty #rightsholders including #GettyPhotos seeking #legal redress from data scraping #ArtificialIntelligence corps

6. Why I own it: Kadrey's better known as the author of the Sandman Slim books. After I read the first couple of those, I looked for his earlier books. This was his first, a cyperpunk-styled novel with heavy nods to William Gibson, but with a few unique twists. The protagonist has elements in common with Sandman Slim.
