Intentar llenar la mente de un niño con conceptos abstractos sin antes enseñarle a gestionar su frustración o a cooperar con sus iguales es como construir un edificio sobre arena. Antes de aspirar a acumular bienes materiales o credenciales académicas, se requiere aprender a ser persona. Un individuo que sabe escuchar, que respeta la diferencia y que resuelve conflictos de forma pacífica aporta mucho más al mundo que un genio egoísta incapaz de mirar más allá de su propio ombligo. Las aulas del futuro necesitan entender que la inteligencia emocional no es un accesorio, sino el eje central de toda formación.
