Me, a couple of seconds into the film: "Oh, this is going to be the best movie ever m-" Me, a couple of seconds later: Oh, that is BEYOND blackface. Director Richard Elfman have apparently regretted those shots in the film since the very first test screening but couldn't afford to change it as he was, and I quote him on the film's Wikipedia-page: "The film had – literally – bankrupted me, I had lost control and couldn't complete it exactly the way I wanted."
