The Last Flight (1931) is a fascinating nicely unpredictable pre-code exercise in post-war angst. Perhaps the most successful attempt at existentialism on film. Two flyers return from the war, now they're going nowhere and they’re in a hurry.

The Last Flight (1931)

The Last Flight , released by First National Pictures in 1931, is a fascinating pre-code exercise in post-war angst and existential despair....

Last night's movie was #HowardHawk's 1939 film "Only Angels have Wings" about manly men risking their lives flying mail, supplies and people over and through the Andes in South America.

#CaryGrant, #ThomasMitchell, #RichardBarthelmess, and #NoahBeery are the manly men. #JeanArthur and, in her breakout role, #RitaHayworth are the Hawksian Woman Archetypes.

Great aerial special effects and stunt flying with the Hamilton H-47, Travel Air 6000, and Ford Trimotor planes as supporting actors.
