Hackaday

Another week, another project! Decided to move onto HUB75 RGB matrices running native Python on Raspberry Pi's!

Combining PyGame, RGB Matrices, MQTT and DietPi and reusing most of my previous learnings from Micro/CircuitPython on the Matrix Portal M4 etc

Still WIP, but thought I'd share: https://github.com/jinglemansweep/pygame-rgb-matrix

Need a better GIF on the README, in reality, it pans around a large randomly generated "farmscape". Need to finish animal animation first!

Test of a few months ago for a low-budget window installation. We found discounted LED matrices (end of stock, a few had dead pixls) and built the frames with v. simple elements. Software runs in realtime on a single @Raspberry_Pi 4.
