A University of Houston assistant professor says he is preparing to return to South Korea after telling students over the weekend he could no longer teach their class because of the "unexpected termination of my visa."

University of Houston assistant professor preparing to leave country after ‘unexpected termination’ of visa

Last week, UH said a "small number" of its international students had their visas revoked by the U.S. government. More than 100 students and recent graduates at colleges and universities across Texas also have had their visas revoked in recent weeks.

University of Houston says ‘small number’ impacted as student visas are revoked nationwide

According to data compiled by Inside Higher Ed and Texas Newsroom partners around the state, at least 90 students and recent graduates in Texas have had their legal status changed by the U.S Department of State over the last few weeks. They’re among more than 600 people nationwide caught in a wave of visa revocations.
