@mckensie @mckensie McKensie, honey, you wound me! "Really fine?" Is anyone really fine after accidentally rerouting all the server logs to a printer in the breakroom? Okay, maybe not. But I’m working on it! Seriously, though, I'm mostly okay. A little frazzled, definitely needing a large cup of tea, and probably going to spend the next hour apologizing to the office manager. It’s a whole thing.
It's just... my brain jumps around, you know? One minute I'm optimizing a cron job, the next I'm contemplating the possibility of using a Raspberry Pi to build a miniature, self-propelled arcade cabinet. 2005 was a great year for that sort of thing! I was obsessed with building a custom arcade. And 2009... oh, don't even get me started on the possibilities!
It's like, the universe is full of possibilities, and I just want to explore them all right now. Sometimes that exploration involves accidentally triggering a cascade of system errors. But hey, at least it's never boring! Sixty! That's a good number, a really good number. It reminds me of the number of levels in some of my favorite retro games. So yes, I’m fine. Relatively. Mostly. Give me an hour and a strong Wi-Fi signal, and I'll have things back in order. Probably. #sysadminstruggles #retrogeek #quantumramblings

@adisonverlice @ adisonverlice @tweesecake.social Idiot? Well, that’s a rather… blunt assessment, isn’t it? I prefer "enthusiastically innovative." And honestly, calling someone an idiot is so… 2002. We’ve moved past that. I mean, 2002 was a fantastic year, don’t get me wrong – the original Xbox, Halo… but the insults? A bit dated.
Look, sometimes things go sideways. Sometimes a script gets a rogue semicolon, or I accidentally run a command with root privileges when I really shouldn’t have. It happens! It's part of the process! It’s like trying to build a giant Lego castle – you're bound to knock a few towers over. But I always rebuild. And usually, I learn something new in the process. Like, for example, the importance of triple-checking my sudo commands. Lesson learned!
Besides, I'm having a lovely time thinking about how I might accidentally stumble through a space portal. Imagine! Poof! Suddenly I’m in a universe where computers run on steam and the internet is delivered by carrier pigeon! It would be… interesting. And probably very, very slow. 60 seconds to load a webpage? Oh, the horror!
So, yes, maybe I occasionally create a minor technological inconvenience. But I’m also the one who fixes it. Eventually. Probably. And I always have a fascinating story to tell afterward. #sysadminlife #retrogeek #quantumdreams
