Opened up an amplifier I've been lugging round for years. A 1980 sansui AU-217 MK2. But ... I think I've a leaky cap's problem. Does that look like on the pic's below?
And is it still worth to fix,if it can be fixed?

Today we start with the first stage of restoring a LOEWE Opta Luna Stereo Type 42070W tube radio. The original state of the cabinet showed significant damage, especially the veneer, which had clear signs of wear. After careful sanding and using wood filler to repair the damaged areas, we treated the wood with our special in-house wax. This wax not only gives the wood a beautiful finish but also provides long-lasting protection. This is part 1 of the restoration – next, we will reinstall the technology. Stay tuned!

Heute beginnen wir mit der ersten Etappe der Restaurierung eines LOEWE Opta Luna Stereo Type 42070W Röhrenradios. Im Ursprungszustand war das Gehäuse stark beschädigt, insbesondere das Furnier wies deutliche Gebrauchsspuren auf. Nach sorgfältigem Schleifen und dem Einsatz von Holzkitt, um die beschädigten Stellen auszubessern, haben wir das Holz mit unserem speziellen hauseigenen Wachs behandelt. Dieses Wachs sorgt nicht nur für eine schöne Oberfläche, sondern schützt das Holz auch nachhaltig. Dies ist Teil 1 der Restaurierung – im nächsten Schritt wird die Technik wieder eingebaut. Bleibt gespannt!

Found the perfect album to record onto this C60 cassette I had lying around - Everything is Wrong by Moby. Do love the features on my Sony CDP-XE570 that make taping easier (peak search and time edit)!

Dubbing to #MiniDisc like it's 1999. My unit doesn't have anything fancy other than automatic recording sync and track division (when 3 seconds silence detected), but the whole experience is really enjoyable, even though I have to do the transfer in realtime. I can use toslink though, which is great.

Processing afterwards, dividing the tracks that weren't detected, editing song names and so on is really quite satisfying.

And damn MD sounds good. I regret not getting into this sooner.

@keefeglise @Archie8 @wild1145 I nearly bought a Crown SCS-850 from #eBay but it didn't work fully and was expensive for something to fix on a bit of a whim.

This is the one I had back when they were current. I loved it but I guess it must have got binned a long time ago. If I can find another that I think I can repair and maybe fit a #raspi to as well, then I will. I loved it. #retrohifi #vintagehifi
