Just received a (semi-spontaneous) call from a chef at a swishy spot a few hours away. We had a great, long chat about the state of the restaurant industry, the toxicity that's fed by awards and the entitled set, how the loss of knowledgeable (beat) reporters in food has impacted the public's understanding of the industry. So much to think about.
And yes. The Menu really brought to mind Peter Greenaway's The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover. Neither film is for the faint-hearted. 4/
