Highlights from today's workshop “Collaborative Pathways to Responsible Research Assessment via Open Infrastructures”.

Participants were diving into hands-on evaluations of #MyResearchFolio and the #GraspOS Meta-Catalogue using the @CoARAssessment OI4RRA Open Infrastructure Checklist, exploring what infrastructures need to truly support #ResponsibleResearchAssessment.

Fantastic energy, rich discussion, and a motivated community committed to turning #RRA principles into practice.

Natalia Manola, OpenAIRE CEO, took part as a speaker, bringing forward insights on community-driven reforms, open infrastructures, and the collective responsibility of shaping a more transparent and equitable research ecosystem.

Today in Graz, Natalia Manola (#OpenAIRE), co-chair of the CoARA - Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment Working Group “Towards #OpenInfrastructures for #ResponsibleResearchAssessment (OI4RRA)”, is presenting a reflection on two years of OI4RRA at the #CoARA WG Co-Chairs Forum 2025.

🤝 Responsible research assessment is key to advancing open science. At Open Knowledge Maps, we believe that assessment should be open, transparent, and recognise the full diversity of research contributions.

That’s why we’ve joined CoARA (@CoARAssessment) - to help foster practices that go beyond traditional metrics and support a more inclusive and equitable research system 🌍

We're excited to be part of this international movement for change! ✨

Why Open Infrastructures Matter for Responsible Research Assessment (RRA)

We invest in Open Science, yet research assessment still depends on closed, proprietary systems, which limit access and reduce transparency.

Research deserves better!
