A reminder to @sfchronicle editors and reporters. Vehicles don’t have independent agency. Both of these headlines incorrectly absolve drivers of their agency. Please stop doing this. People need to understand that driving with undue speed and/or lack of attention, or outright recklessness is something they can control. Brake failure? Use the hand brake.
