Some #PrePrint servers are actually fairly pointless, aren't they?

Found something in a #ResearchSquare pre-print that authors might want to consider correcting. I wanted to drop them a line, but one would need to log in to see the author's email address...

Well, four #PeerReview -ers have accepted. They'll find it, correct?

Question for #AcademicPublishing/ #OpenAccess/ #preprint nerd friends - how do people feel about #ResearchSquare?

Something about a preprint server run by a traditional publisher seems icky to me but I don't know if I'm being overly cynical

Fazit erste schnelle Auswertung: 26 versch. "Orte" wo "preprints" liegen, davon #arxiv|s, aber auch das franz. Repo #HAL, aber auch #RePEc und #ResearchSquare + einzelne Journals.

Our preprint on #OxfordNanopore #genome sequencing, assembly, and analysis of three critically endangered ash (Fraxinus) species in the olive family (Oleaceae) is up on #ResearchSquare :)

High quality long-read genomes produced from single MinION flow cells clarify polyploid and demographic histories of critically endangered ash species (Fraxinus: Oleaceae)

With populations of threatened and endangered plants and animals declining worldwide, it is important that high quality genomic records of these species are preserved before they are lost forever. Here, we demonstrate that data from single Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) MinION flow cells c...

@rmounce Fancy things publishers believe... "number one multi-disciplinary preprint platform", "fastest growing", "language barriers eliminated".

I've never encountered a link to #ResearchSquare in the wild. There are less than 100 on the English Wikipedia.

Traffic currently comparable to MDPI's preprints.org but will probably grow with Springer's power. As #ResearchGate, a possible threat for real #OpenRepositories.

Good for them that they successfully outsourced the development to a JV.
