Ford has money for his friends by privatizing health care. But Ontarians could get those surgeries NOW if his government INVESTED in PUBLIC health care. Despite denying that #Bill124 worsened the health care crisis EVERY TIME New Democrats pointed out the obvious, Ford Govt internal documents show that suppressing health and public sector wages paved the way for our current crisis. #OnPoli #RepealBill124

Ford government documents admit low wages, Bill 124 worsening health staffing issues

Briefings drafted for Ontario's minister of health, obtained by Global News through a freedom of information request, make the admission, and raise other staffing concerns.

Global News

The Ford government knew that Bill 124 was driving nurses from hospitals. The Ford government knew this and then actively appealed a court decision to strike down Bill 124.

Coupled with ZERO government messaging on the value of retaining veteran nurses (yes, I have the receipts), it looks very much like Bill 124 was used intentionally as a way to flush Ontario's most experienced hospital nurses from the public payroll and to private agencies.

Jones has known since she took over as minister. It was in her transition binder.

There you go. Doug Ford's government waited as long as possible -- until the quietest news week -- to file the appeal. Imagine how nurses, working their hearts out this week, feel hearing this news.
