Meanwhile, the #UnitedStates lost control of the waterway, and with that, it's hegemony in world affairs.

Jonah Raskin, on Counterpunch, says, "...Foner would like yet another American Revolution, one which would fulfill the promise of Reconstruction..."

I (like Foner) believe we need to have multiple MORE rounds of Reconstruction, more successfully. And different forms of reparations, to almost everyone. If we can stop affording senseless wars and genocides, we'll be able to start making up for them.
