I efterkrigstidens Sverige fanns fram till 1956 omfattande prisreglering genom Statens priskontrollnämnd. Det var den tiden då socialdemokraterna var i en sorts hegemonisk position.

I ingen av fallen är det ens i närheten av "kommunistiskt". Tvärtom är alla fallen tydliga exempel på kapitalistisk ekonomi med regleringar. Tillfälliga prisregleringar på vissa basvaror infördes till och med i Macrons Frankrike 2022.

Därför tycker jag själva formuleringen som jag tidigare såg på SVT, "av motståndarna kallad kommunist", om New Yorks nya borgmästare, blir väldans skev. Det är ju inte "motståndare" i allmänhet, utan dagens Trump-dominerade republikaner som använder epitetet. En extrem och absurd benämning för en politik för frysning av hyror. Det vill säga reglerad marknad. Det bör klargöras, eftersom det annars kan framstå som om motståndare till Zohran Mamdani i största allmänhet skulle benämna honom som "kommunist".
