Found this in a bunch of stuff I recently acquired. Brings back good memories. It’s a 3.5” magneto optical disk from the 90s. Magnitudes more reliable than other removable storage technologies with a lifespan of 30 + years. The 5.25” disks hold up to 9.1GB. I’ve only come across SCSI MO drives of these types but I believe Olympus made usb versions of the 3.5”. #retrocomputing #macintosh #opticaldisk #removablemedia

I'm always posting stuff about our puppers Zelda, so I figured I'd drop one of some of my old computer hardware that's kinda neat. This is a Syquest 3.5" 270MB removable cartridge drive from 1994! It's got a SCSI interface on the back, and built in power supply. It still works flawlessly, although at SCSI1 speeds, but ya know what, it's really fun to use and be able to store things on, even if just for novelty sake!
