On the 11th hour of the 11th day on the 11th month.
That's when Armistice silenced battlefields during the First World War.
Today, we gather to remember all those that fought for what we have today, across all the conflicts.
May we never forget them.

@ottaross That was something hearing that version of 'Danny Boy.' I wish I had a copy of the older version of "In Flanders Fields," I prefer the older melody. It's haunting to hear the poem sung.

末日幽靈11月11日為和平紀念日(國殤紀念日、停戰日),乃第一次世界大戰終戰之莊嚴時刻。人們於此日胸前別上虞美人花以為追思,並於11時整肅立默哀悼念逝者
相傳終戰翌年,法蘭德斯戰場遺址虞美人花盛放如潮,殷紅如血的花海恍若為犧牲將士灑下的無言祭奠,遂成為和平的永恆象徵

在香港 #和平紀念日 更承載著 #香港保衛戰 犧牲者的沉重記憶。
今日亦為中大保衛戰六週年,那穿透防毒面罩的催淚煙霧氣味,至今令人刻骨銘心。
硝煙看似遠去,戰爭卻從未止息,但人類對和平的嚮往與追尋,亦始終不曾停歇。
然而諷刺的是,在這肅穆的紀念時刻,竟有國度選擇以購物狂歡褻瀆此日的莊嚴意義。
