Why the #Holodomor should be recognised as genocide:
Raphael Lemkin, the inventor of the concept "genocide", which he first applied to describe the Nazi Holocaust, considered the starvation of Ukrainians as an act of genocide.
In his 1953 article “Soviet Genocide in the Ukraine” he spoke about "the destruction of the Ukrainian nation" as the "the classic example of Soviet genocide”.

What is the Holodomor?

The Holodomor is 1932-1933 Act of Genocide by Famine engineered by the Stalinist regime to starve a nation.

At the height of the #Holodomor ([#Голодомор] - a term derived from the Ukrainian words for hunger [holod / голод] and extermination [mor / морити] - Ukrainian men, women and children were dying at the rate of:

25,000 per day,
1,000 per hour,
17 per minute.
