As someone raised Catholic, I try not to get too worked up over religious iconography being used in culture—but this crosses a line.
The use of papal vestments, especially in today’s context and with this particular individual, feels like a mockery of something sacred.
Faith and power don’t mix well when respect is lost.

Government offices across the EU can ban employees from wearing religious symbols in the interest of neutrality, the EU’s top court has ruled, though it stressed that such restrictions must be applied equally to all employees and fit within the legal context of each member state.
