I'm currently reading a textbook on interpersonal relationships that gives a helpful overview of research in this field. I've often wondered what factors tend to be associated with a successful relationship, and what attitudes and behaviours lead to unhappy and failed relationships, with their attendant pain and loss.
This book answers such questions, in so far as the state of psychological and social research permits, while exploring a range of interesting, related topics.
