On #ThisDayInHistory in 1935, #RegineJonas (also #ReginaJonas) became the first woman ordained a #rabbi. From a religious family, she wrote a thesis on the #Halachic basis for ordaining women, but it took five years to find someone to do it. She was killed at #Auschwitz in 1944.
